Our best tricks to get rid of those pesky stumps
Do you have an ugly, protruding stump after cutting down a tree? Remove it completely so you can replant with these tips:
– Rent or buy a powerful stump grinder if you have multiple stumps to remove. Professional grinders work much better than trying to do it manually.
– Cut and scrape away any visible roots around the stump before you start chipping. This exposes more of the hidden base.
– Start by shredding the top of the stump and slowly work downward in level passes for a smooth surface.
– Multiple passes with the chipper will remove even the largest and most stubborn roots.
– Rinse the chipped area with water to help remove chips and leave the cavity clean for planting.
– Backfill with new soil and compact lightly if necessary to equalize the level.
You can also line the area with new plants or sod. For especially large or deep stumps, contact us. Our experts at Jose Salinas Tree Services LLC can grind up any stumps quickly, so you can move forward with your project.
